Welcome to Practical Business Intelligence

Greetings BI enthusiast!  In the ongoing search for increasing ways to put valuable resources into the hands of practitioners and professionals in the business intelligence space.  My vision is to assemble a team of authors from different sides of the BI space to ruminate on topics such as enterprise data warehousing, strategic alignment of the business and IT, data governance, and even lower-level technical topics such as tools comparison, data architecture, ETL best practices, and conforming dimensions.

As you look around the site, make sure you take in the following pages:

The authors page tells you a little more about the various people blogging here.  I’d like to get 8-10 active bloggers involved, so if you’re knowledgeable about BI and looking for a place to share your genius with the world, you should let me know.

The about page tells you more about why I decided to launch a blog like this and what you should expect to find here.

The events page will keep you up-to-date on valuable web events, as well as gatherings in the Chicago and Omaha areas re: BI/EDM.  If you have an event you’d like published, you should let us know that as well.

“Ask the Experts” is a feature which I think will greatly benefit visitors to the site.  This allows you to submit questions about business intelligence or other topics on this blog to which you need an answer.  If we get totally overwhelmed, this could have a half-life, but until then, we want to know what you want to know.  Send your questions to biquestions@capstonec.com.

Plus, there is a lot of other cool stuff out there, like important definitions, helpful links, BI resources, etc.  And if you don’t see it, but think it’d be valuable, just let us know.

Okay, that’s it for introductions.  Check us out.  Ask us questions.  Post comments.  Hopefully, at the end of our discussion will be valuable insights for you and your business.
