Omaha BI Summit
What: Capstone Omaha BI Summit
When: Odd-numbered months, typically on a Thursday, 5-7PM
Where:Varies; member companies typically host events
One of the goals of Capstone’s Business Intelligence practice is to increase education on the topics of Business Intelligence and Enterprise Data Management. We host BI Summits in the Omaha area as a service to our customers, and to anyone else desiring to expand their knowledge of BI and collaborate on solutions with other professionals and practitioners. In an increasingly challenging world of ever-shrinking margins and global competition, we believe it is no longer a luxury to leverage corporate data as a strategic asset. Businesses are increasingly investing in business intelligence (BI) as the infrastructure which allows them to turn data into the knowledge to make better strategic and operational decisions.
The BI Summit is a bi-monthly roundtable forum designed to bring business and IT leaders together to discuss issues, collaborate on strategy and solutions, and work together toward a common goal: better use of knowledge assets and information technology to drive business performance. It is typically hosted by member companies and involves a speaker, lively discussion, networking, door prizes, and light refreshments. All events are free to participants. Our first meeting was in October, 2008. In the last year, we have addresses topics vital to establishing successful business intelligence initiatives in companies of all shapes and sizes, such as:
- Agile Business Intelligence
- Building Strategic Alignment between IT and the Business
- Data Governance
- Measuring the TCO and ROI of BI
- Case Studies
- And much more

Many of the contributors to this blog are participants and regular contributors at the BI Summit. Feel free to join us at our next meeting. Or, register to be notified about future BI events in the Omaha area.
